As part of the agenda for the annual LCA membership meeting in November, the Board of Directors will share information from the recent feasibility study of Camp Arcadia’s facility master plan, Spirit of Arcadia: Building for the Future, which overall showed strong support towards the plan and campaign. At the meeting, the Board will present how it will move forward to fine-tune the plan for a future vote, rather than proposing a vote at this time.
The Board received the study results on September 11 at a special board meeting. After reviewing the results, considering questions and comments from presentations this summer, and thoughtful deliberation, the Board decided it was best to wait to call for a vote for several reasons. First, it will allow the Board more time to consider and adjust the plan based on the feedback received, including adding to the plan a way to address lake levels and the beach. Second, it will allow Chip and the Board time to determine the leadership structure needed to successfully conduct a major capital campaign and continue to operate our thriving Camp.
