What to Expect
Lutherhostel is a late-August retreat for older adults arriving Saturday afternoon and departing on Thursday after lunch. Enjoy typical Camp Arcadia activities – singing and the Dean’s Program in the morning, tournaments like shuffleboard and bocce, and time for crafting, card games and fellowship each day – in addition to afternoon off-site trips (including transportation) which are organized for your enjoyment. Don’t forget the Salt City Dixie Jazz Band performance or the evening worship services to cap off wonderful, fun-filled days at Camp!

Prayer – Corporate to Contemplative
Prayer is an integral part of the Christian life of faith. Baptized believers pray without ceasing as “dear children coming to their dear Father in heaven.” In this five-part series, we will explore the biblical basis for prayer in the Lord’s Prayer, the psalms, and other passages of the Scriptures. We will then look at how Christians throughout the ages pray, from liturgical corporate prayer to household devotions to private prayer including meditative prayer and contemplative silence.

Food, Feasts & Fasts for Jesus’ followers in Luke’s Gospel
Luke’s Gospel accents the meal time encounters of Jesus, who dines with sinners and tax collectors, fills the hungry with good things, feeds a crowd with limited provisions and reveals himself to discouraged disciples in the breaking of bread at Emmaus. Pastor Forni will lead a review of kingdom fare, fortifying Jesus’ present day followers and faith communities for service in His name.
