Announcing Jess Knoll’s Final Season as Assistant Director

It is with both gratitude and sadness that we announce that this will be Jess Knoll’s final season as Camp Arcadia’s Assistant Director.

After prayerful and thoughtful consideration with her husband Mitch, Jess has decided that her next right step is to transition out of her current role here at Camp Arcadia and into a part-time secretary position at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arcadia. This was a difficult decision to make, but will allow for more time together as a family.

We are grateful for Jess’ 9 years of service to Camp’s ministry – the structure, systems, energy and enthusiasm she has brought to her role and to the Camp community. We give thanks to God for Jess’ heart for ministry and her dedication to serving our staff and helping them grow personally, professionally and spiritually. Jess, Mitch and Malachi look forward to continued connection to Camp Arcadia and already anticipate new ways to serve and participate in the Camp community for years to come.

“When I reflect on my time on full time staff at Camp Arcadia, I am filled with immense gratitude for the gift of sharing in this Camp community. During my time at Camp, I’ve seen lots of growth and change – not only at Camp, but in my own life and family, as well. I will always be grateful for this opportunity and sharing these seasons of life with the Camp community.

Mitch, Malachi and I are excited for this next chapter for Camp and for the new and different ways our family will be able to continue to engage in the Camp community.”

Jess Knoll

Jess will serve in her role full time until the end of Family Week 9, then transition to working part time in her role until the end of the season, while starting her part-time work with church. She will finish her service to Camp at the end of this season. We will begin the hiring process for her role this fall. If you are interested in the position or know someone who would be a good fit for this role, please reach out to Executive Director, Chip May.

“It is incredible to look back at how God has used Jess’ gifts to bless the Camp Arcadia family over her nine years. I am forever grateful for how she helped us navigate the COVID years, her dedication to serving our seasonal staff, and how her faith informed everything she did as our program director and then as assistant director. I will dearly miss her, but know that she has created a foundation for the next individual we hire to be successful. I also look forward to the ways she will be involved in Camp’s ministry in the years to come.”

Chip May

Again, we are thankful for Jess and all she has dedicated to Camp’s ministry, and we look forward to a new season of partnership with the Knoll family starting this fall. Thank you for your prayers for the Knoll family and for the search for Camp’s next Assistant Director as we navigate this transition.

  6. Jess, although I only would see you at Women’s Retreats, the impression you always left me with as I drove away from deeply satisfying weekends at Camp was “Jess is truly a gift to Camp Arcadia and to those she serves”. Your positive attitude, joy in serving and extremely capable, and loving servant heart was reflected in everything you impacted. You will be missed!
