The Lutheran Camp Association(“LCA”) is governed by an eleven member Board of Directors consisting of nine elected LCA members and two ACCA board members. Each fall at the LCA annual meeting, the membership elects three individuals to serve on the Board for a three year term.
In 2022, the LCA Board of Directors voted to change the nominations and slating process and to have an equal number of candidates as positions on the 2023 slate. The decision was made with the goal of creating continuity in board service and identifying skilled candidates to meet board needs. Most non-profit boards have moved towards uncontested elections to attract qualified candidates and the LCA Board of Directors believed it was critical to the success of the Board to retain incumbents. This new slating process worked well in 2023 and is being used again this year.
The LCA nominations committee is in place to assess the needs of the Board and determine the best candidates for the slate. This year’s committee will consist of two Board members – Jackie Bywater and Nissa Ricafort and three LCA at-large members: Sandy Becker, Brian McKenna and Emilie Zuzek.
To express interest in serving on the board or to nominate a LCA member for the slate, reach out to nomination committee chairperson Jackie Bywater at j_spenn@yahoo.com and complete the LCA Board Nominations form no later than Friday, May 3, 2024.
