Thank you for your continued understanding and flexibility as guidelines and best practices continue to change. Per updated regulations from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, beginning the July 1, 2021, all COVID-19 restrictions and capacity limits will be lifted (including the mask mandate). Here’s how this will affect Camp’s 2021 season.
STAFF
Staff guidelines are regulated by MIOSHA (Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration). These guidelines supersede those of the Michigan DHHS, so staff may continue to be required to wear masks during some activities per those guidelines.
SUMMER STARTER
The current plans in place for the Summer Starter Retreat are not affected and will stay in place.
TEEN RETREATS (ALPHA, OMEGA)
We are currently awaiting updated regulations from Michigan’s licensing agency for teen camps. If and when these are released, we will inform guests and families of any updates to restrictions or capacity limits.
FAMILY WEEK 1
Lodging: Families will be sharing hallway bathroom facilities with other families. Guests with private bathrooms in their room will continue to be private. There will continue to be no public restrooms in the Inn.
Meals: Breakfast and dinner will be served in the dining room, and lunch will be offered as takeout.
Trading Post: The Trading Post will be open for limited indoor dining! We will continue to offer our outdoor service. Families will be able to sign up for a 9p seating at the office during the day and, during open hours, place their name on a list for indoor table service after 9p. The Trading Post will be open Saturday & Thursday from 9:00-10:30p and Sunday-Wednesday from 9:00-10:00p.
Morning Program: Our morning youth program is back after taking a hiatus last season. This year, we are trying a few new things. Each age group will have one or two “small” groups that they will spend most of their time with. These groups have a dedicated staff person working with them.
We are meeting and crafting outside! We will be crafting, playing, singing and studying God’s word in His creation. Groups will be heading out to the ballfield for morning program activities multiple times during the week. Good shoes and sunscreen would be a good idea for our participants!
Note: The Ark + Nursery will continue to meet indoors in their designated locations.
Craft Shop: We are excited to have another fabulous season of crafting! This year, you will be able to come into the craft shop, be inspired, and look at all our offerings for the season. A staff member will help you collect your supplies and then you will head outside to the craft shop deck tables or picnic tables on the kid’s court. There, you have power, shade, and music during your crafting time; there will also be a staff member outside to assist as needed.
FAMILY WEEKS 2-9, Lutherhostel, and Labor Day
Camp Arcadia will increase our guest capacity for these retreats based on availability and staff capacity. (Note: Usually, summer staff has an average of 42 members. This summer, we have 32 staff members.) We will begin connecting with individuals and families on the waitlists for each retreat to fill openings. If you are interested in attending Camp this summer, but are not currently on the waitlist, please visit https://camp-arcadia.com/register to register or call the office for more information.

Trading Post: The Trading Post will be fully open for indoor seating. The Cream Cart will still serve scoops on the patio, however with the return to an open Trading Post, the takeout window will no longer be in operation.
Dean’s Program: The Dean’s Program will be moved back into the Assembly.
