Wonder #3: Saint Louis Family Leaves Windows Open in July
To the average St. Louis resident, July evokes a certain level of disdain due to the hot and humid conditions, but for one family, a week-long adventure proved to them that July may not, in fact, be the worst month of the year.
The family arrived at Camp Arcadia on Lake Michigan to discover an unfamiliar, refreshing sensation that the locals call “cool lake breezes.” Much to their surprise, the family willingly kept the windows in their room open all week long. Emboldened by the crisp mornings, the family was seen purchasing a stockpile of Camp Arcadia sweatshirts by Wednesday. “We might not need them for a while when we get home,” commented one family member, “but it sure was nice to need them here.”
This story is part of our series, “16 Wonders of the Camp Arcadia Experience.” Some silly and some heartfelt – each wonder draws us into delight and invites us to gratitude for God’s good gifts!
