Wonder #13: Camp Lives Up to the "Hype"
John and Cindy had been hearing about Camp Arcadia from friends at church for years. “You have to go! You’ll love it!” They finally decided to give it a shot last summer, attending with one of the families at church.
They had an incredibly pleasant arrival at Camp – friendly young adults helping to unload their car, a tasty dinner, and an introductory tour of Camp while their kids got to know their group for the week. They laughed at the Staff Talent Show and followed the crowd into the Trading Post, sitting at the counter and ordering a round of ice cream cones and shakes.
As the sun set over Lake Michigan, John and Cindy walked their kids back to the Inn to go to bed. Already they could feel their stress melting away, and it was only Sunday!
The next five days included thoroughly enjoyed activities like reading uninterrupted (Cindy), a softball game (John), sports and games including Capture the Flag (John enjoyed this as much as the kids), beach time for the whole family, and lots of new friendships for all.
“Definitely lives up to the hype,” John commented at the end of the week.
Cindy agreed. “Next year, we’re bringing the Moores. They would totally love this place.”
