Come to Camp Arcadia May 22-25, 2015 for the annual Opening Weekend, a volunteer opportunity for people of varying ages and skill sets to help us prepare Camp Arcadia for the season.
Shoveling, painting, raking, baking, cleaning, sorting, sweeping and many other “-ings” will be accomplished by the group of over 150 people, and we give thanks for this group! The ministry of Camp Arcadia is strong in large part because of the many people who give their time and talents through events such as Opening Weekend.
A special bonus at this year’s Opening Weekend will be a Celebration of Service, honoring Facilities Director John Jass’ service of 21 years to camp, as he plans to leave the employ of Camp Arcadia this season in pursuit of a new career. We will honor John during the first worship service of the year, on May 23 at 8:30 p.m.
To register for the weekend, simple call the Camp office during business hours and let Rachel know your arrival and departure times. Meals and lodging are free for everyone. If you intend to come only to the worship service, you do not need to notify the Camp office.
Volunteers are asked to bring their own bedding, but Camp will provide all tools and equipment. Bring work clothes and attire for outdoor work if you are able. For more information about what to expect, click here or call the office at (231) 889-4361.
