10 Things That Are Your Fault

It’s all your fault. Yep, you read that right. Because of your prayers, gifts, hard work and participation Camp Arcadia’s ministry has been sustained and strengthened for over a 100 years. God has worked through you and generations of Arcadians to make Camp Arcadia a place of refuge and renewal for thousands of people each summer. Like I said, it’s all your fault.

Here are 10 things that are your fault …

1. Because of you … Teens get to experience what it is like to be a part of a Christ-centered community that loves and supports them through the Alpha and Omega teen retreats.

2. Because of you … Moms and dads get to come to Camp and play with their kids along the shore of Lake Michigan.

3. Because of you … Reasonable people who normally are not prone to public displays of dancing actually square dancing on the tennis courts.

4. Because of you … Grandparents get to spend time with their kids and grandkids without any distractions or hurried schedules. Evidence shows that this involves a lot of grandparents taking one for the team and accompanying their young grandchildren to tot treats. That ice cream isn’t going to eat itself!

5. Because of you … Kids get a break from their screens and get to learn about Jesus’ love for them as they eat way too much ice cream, jump in the waves, and end the day drifting off to sleep in a bed full of sand.

6. Because of you … God’s wondrous creation takes center stage as you vacation in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

7. Because of you … Spouses are reminded of why they fell in love as they spend much needed time with each other.

8. Because of you … Staff and volunteers gain valuable leadership skills as they grow and learn through their service experience.

9. Because of you … Bad jokes are told in the dining room after the meal. This includes Chip’s attempts at humor with his “rules and guidelines” speech after Sunday’s dinner. Come on Chip, get some new material.

10. Because of you … Camp Arcadia’s strong financial position allowed it to react to the global pandemic with thoughtful, measured, and long-term decision making which positioned us to carry out our mission well into the future.

We give thanks to God for the loyal and generous support you and so many others have given to Camp Arcadia. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to prayerfully consider a year-end gift to Camp Arcadia.

Our Annual Campaign goal is $500,000 and we need your help to reach it. We are thrilled that generous partners in Camp’s ministry have issued a $100,000 match. This means every gift between now and December 31st will be matched dollar for dollar up to $100,000.
