Join us for five days of outstanding golfing on some of Michigan’s best courses as we celebrate the annual Golf & the Gospel retreat. We do all the work: book the tee times, serve up fabulous meals, create an engaging community, and even give out prizes. All you have to do is bring your clubs and have a great time!

Golfers are responsible for greens fees, and may golf the selected course of the day, a different course, or not golf at all. Non-golfing guests are welcome to read their favorite book on the beach, see lots of local points of interest (including great shopping), or lounge around Camp. Sack lunches are available to all guests.

Please help promote this week at your church and to your friends. Download an informational flyer.

The Parables and Putts of Jesus – Both Shouldn’t Be That Difficult to Understand!

We will focus on the 10 parables that Jesus tells along his journey from Galilee to Jerusalem (“Travel Dialogue” of Luke 9-18). These parables of community, inclusion, forgiveness, and prayer are also a prelude to the cross that awaits Him once He arrives at Jerusalem. Those who gather at Arcadia in June will have fun on the links, but also spend some time rehearsing once more what it means to live as followers of the Master.

Dave Marth, St. Louis, MO , Dean

Dave Marth, a veteran of Camp Arcadia, spends most of his time as pastor of Historic Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Louis, where he has been senior pastor for 18 years. He and his wife, Mary, have been married 42 years. They have three children and nine grandchildren.

After a hearty breakfast, guests pick up a box lunch and play a round on the selected course of the day, returning to camp about 3 p.m. Early evening snacks and conversation on the patio are followed by dinner and the evening program of Bible study led by the dean, himself an avid golfer. The day’s activities end with plenty of time and fellowship in the camp store, the “Trading Post,” which has ice cream treats and popcorn.

Camp Arcadia is located on Lake Michigan 50 miles southwest of Traverse City (about two hours north of Holland). There are abundant recreational opportunities for the non-golfing spouses and guests or for a “day off”.
